API Inspector

5+ Years of experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industries. In-service Inspection of Pressure Vessels, Piping/Pipelines and Storage Tanks, Mechanical Fabrication, Construction, Coatings etc.

Qualifications

Possess valid API 653 (Storage Tanks) & API 570 (Piping) Certifications.

Education:

Shall have Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial or Metallurgical or appropriate Engineering.

Technical Knowledge / Skills:

Ability to coordinate with client for the preparations and inspection as per agreed work scope or Inspection Plan.

Ability to review Drawings, P&ID’s, Isometrics etc.

Good knowledge of Damage Mechanisms, failures in equipment, based on which the inspection approach will be formulated and ability to make judgments on the inspection findings.

Good Communication, Report writing and interpersonal skills.

Review collected data and prepare report for the testing in line with the company procedures.

MS Office, Internet, basic computer skills are necessary.

Adopt risk-based thinking aptitude in all areas and processes related to performance of services.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and execute Inspection Plans in conjunction applicable SOP’s/API/BS codes etc.

Execute inspections of equipment, interpret results and prepare inspection reports in line with the company procedures. Assess corrosion rate, determine remaining life, next inspection interval, remediation’s etc.

Execute Inspection, interpret results and prepare report in line with company procedure.

Perform inspection as authorized under the formal system of the division with respect to the qualification/competence skill matrix and authorization.
