We are looking for an Audit Senior to join our Sumer Offshore Services team, part of the Sumer Group, working in a hybrid model based at the 123 Consulting office in Johannesburg. As an Audit Senior, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality audit engagements for a portfolio of UK-based SME clients. This is a client-facing role where you will take ownership of audits from planning through to completion, while also coaching and supporting junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

Lead audits from planning through to completion, coordinating resources, allocating work, and managing timelines
Take ownership of audit quality, ensuring compliance with internal methodologies and auditing standards
Review the work of junior team members, providing guidance, coaching, and support in their development
Prepare and present audit findings, clearly identifying risks and key insights for review
Build and maintain strong client relationships, adapting communication style to meet client needs
Collaborate with colleagues across service lines to deliver a seamless and high-quality client experience
Contribute to additional workstreams such as accounts preparation, internal initiatives, and cross-team projects where required
Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance collaboration, and add value across the wider team

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

CA(SA) or ACCA qualified
Newly qualified up to 3 years PQE
UK audit experience, including exposure to FRS102, is advantageous
Experience in preparing financial statements is beneficial
Proven ability to support, guide, and develop junior team members
Experience working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment
A flexible, agile mindset with a willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities
