We are looking for an Audit Senior to join our Sumer Offshore Services team, part of the Sumer Group, working in a hybrid model based at the 123 Consulting office in Johannesburg. As an Audit Senior, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality audit engagements for a portfolio of UK-based SME clients. This is a client-facing role where you will take ownership of audits from planning through to completion, while also coaching and supporting junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead audits from planning through to completion, coordinating resources, allocating work, and managing timelines
  • Take ownership of audit quality, ensuring compliance with internal methodologies and auditing standards
  • Review the work of junior team members, providing guidance, coaching, and support in their development
  • Prepare and present audit findings, clearly identifying risks and key insights for review
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, adapting communication style to meet client needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues across service lines to deliver a seamless and high-quality client experience
  • Contribute to additional workstreams such as accounts preparation, internal initiatives, and cross-team projects where required
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance collaboration, and add value across the wider team

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • CA(SA) or ACCA qualified
  • Newly qualified up to 3 years PQE
  • UK audit experience, including exposure to FRS102, is advantageous
  • Experience in preparing financial statements is beneficial
  • Proven ability to support, guide, and develop junior team members
  • Experience working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment
  • A flexible, agile mindset with a willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities
