Backend Engineering Intern

PlusMinusOne is amobile startup studiothat focuses on developing and marketing its own apps that are used and loved by millions of people around the world. Our products collectively reachmore than a half-million new users every month in the US market alone.We are a hybrid startup with offices in San Francisco, Istanbul and Ankara.

We have been building mobile products focused on Business, Photo & Video, and Education categories in the App Store mainly for the US market since 2016. And in each of these categories,our goal is the same: provide actual value to people with the best mobile user experience.

We’re in an exciting period of growth and are looking for exceptional Backend Engineering Internwho will help us shape the future of mobile.

What we are looking for:

• 3rd or 4th-year student in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in backend development, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on backend experience through coursework, personal projects, or previous internships — we care about strong fundamentals over any specific language or framework.
• Solid grasp of OOP, design patterns, clean code, and core data structures & algorithms.
• Familiarity with version control (Git).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a genuine willingness to learn and grow fast

Your responsibilities will be:

• Developing backend services for our mobile apps under guidance
• Collaborating with the team to refine and integrate applications
• Learning and applying best practices in backend development
• Participating in planning meetings, task estimations, and code reviews
• Exploring and implementing new technologies to improve our systems
