Priory Hospital Hazelwood House has an opportunity for a Bank Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team.

Priory Hospital Hazelwood House, Heath, Derbyshire is a low secure unit for 12 males with mental health needs. It is accessible by public transport, with Chesterfield railway station approximately 2–3 miles from the service and limited local bus links. Due to the location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

Key Responsibilities

You will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to supporting people's wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.

Provide high-quality, person-centred mental health nursing care, carrying out patient assessments, developing and reviewing care plans, and supporting recovery-focused outcomes. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective care, administer medication, monitor patient wellbeing, maintain accurate clinical records, and build positive therapeutic relationships with patients and their families. Promote a safe and supportive ward environment while adhering to professional standards, safeguarding requirements and NMC guidelines.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential for the role
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC registration
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate, patient-centred approach to care.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong clinical judgement and commitment to delivering high-quality, safe care.
  • Flexible to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
The following experience would be beneficial
  • Previous experience working in a mental health or learning disabilities setting.
  • Experience delivering recovery-focused, person-centred care.
  • Confidence in assessing, planning and reviewing patient care.
  • Experience administering medication and maintaining accurate clinical records.
  • Supporting or mentoring newly qualified staff or students.
