BESS Developer

Greenvolt Power Spain is looking for a ** BESS Developer** who will be responsible for identifying, developing, and structuring energy storage projects (BESS) in Spain, from origination to ready-to-build stage. The role ensures Greenvolt Power expands its storage pipeline strategically, financially sound, and in compliance with local regulations.

Key accountabilities

• Experience in techno-economic modelling of energy storage projects, including system sizing, operational simulations, and investment-grade reporting.
• In-depth understanding of EU and US BESS revenue frameworks, market dynamics, and value-stacking strategies.
• Strong knowledge of Capacity Markets, Ancillary Services, and Continuous Trading Markets.
• Active support to development teams in the technical and commercial assessment of new opportunities.
• Contribution to the design, development, and ongoing management of analytical and financial modelling tools.
• Hands-on experience with industry-standard modelling platforms such as SAM, HOMER, and MATLAB toolboxes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Environment, Geography, Management, or related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in renewable energy or BESS project development.
• Experience in permitting, grid access processes, and feasibility assessments.
• Knowledge of the Spanish energy market and BESS regulatory framework.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Proactive, autonomous, and capable of managing multiple projects.
• Negotiation skills with external stakeholders.
• GIS tools knowledge (preferred).
• Interest in emerging storage technologies and flexibility markets.
