About Us

Com4 is a leading global service provider in the Internet of Things (IoT), also known as “Machine to Machine” (M2M). We offer mobile data subscriptions tailored to our customers' applications in their connected devices and equipment. This connectivity enables innovative solutions across many sectors, such as energy, security, transport, and welfare technologies.

Com4 is a significant player in the Norwegian telecom market, with a 50% market share in the IoT segment. Through roaming agreements, we offer IoT communication on 2G/3G/4G/5G across 700 networks globally. As a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), Com4 has its own mobile core network and a portfolio of Business Support Systems (BSS) and Operational Support Systems (OSS).

A central element of our core network is our IP/MPLS network, which connects network elements across our various data centers and forms the interface toward our customers and partners/providers of peering, IP Transit, and IPX/GRX. We have solutions for several VPN variants adapted for business customers with dedicated APNs and diverse communication needs. We make extensive use of MPLS in both IP and mobile network elements for efficient service production. FW and NAT solutions are important security elements in our design. The services we produce meet high requirements for uptime, and solution flexibility is a central part of the offering we provide to customers. Moving forward, the network is being further developed to support 5G SA mobile services, scale, and increase the degree of automation.

About the Role

We are looking for a Billing Engineer for our BSS team, motivated to ensure that the business critical billing is performed with high quality on time. This is a vital role for the company.

You will be part of a BSS team responsible for CMP & Billing, and you will report to the Head of BSS. As part of this team you will ensure revenue assurance, handle day-to-day operations, and help shape product development to automate and scale these complex data pipelines.

In this role you will work tightly with finance, sales, data engineering, product, and customer operations. We are looking for a senior candidate, but mid-level professionals with the right qualifications are encouraged to apply. You don’t need a background in Telecom or IoT to be successful, that can be learned. What matters most is your ability to solve problems and drive results.

We value strong collaboration, open communication, and a proactive mindset where you can take ownership of your work. While the skills below are helpful, we prioritize your potential and eagerness to learn; this role offers significant room for growth.

To further strengthen our technical team, we are looking for a Billing Engineer who has competence or experience in several of the following areas, as well as an interest in learning more:

• Experience with billing, revenue assurance or managing complex data.
• Knowledge of automatic billing and pricing systems, with experience managing invoicing operations, rating engines, and managing high-volume data transactions.
• Familiarity with the telecom value chain, charging models, or CDR processing.
• Bonus points for knowing TM Forum frameworks (eTOM, SID, TAM).
• A developer mindset and background is considered a plus, but not a must. If you like to develop your own solutions, it is good to know that you will have powerful AI tools at your disposal (including Claude) and macs capable of system development.
• Some proficiency in IT development, system operations, and automation tools (including SQL and scripting languages), for either collaborating with Com4 developers or creating efficiency autonomously.
• An interest or background in billing product management, such as adapting price plans to offerings. At Com4 this means IoT cellular data products or broadband solutions like Fixed Wireless Access or new satellite services like Starlink reselling.
• A proactive approach, you can drive projects forward without being micromanaged. A positive, solution-oriented attitude when facing new challenges.
• Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work across different departments in Com4. You can effectively communicate with B2B customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
• Fluency in Norwegian and English.
