About Us
Urban Intelligence was established in 2021 with the mission of enabling evidence-based decisions in the climate and risk management space. The communities we serve, including councils, central government, iwi, and infrastructure managers, are all tasked with making critical decisions about the risks posed by climate change.
To make these decisions, risk information needs to be accessible, understandable, and up to date. The Resilience Explorer® (REx), an interactive, user-tailored platform for scenario testing and risk-informed decision-making, was developed to support decision-makers. It helps organisations understand climate risk, infrastructure vulnerability, and the potential consequences of future hazards.
Our work spans climate adaptation, infrastructure resilience, emergency management, and long-term planning. We combine research, software, spatial analysis, and systems thinking to help communities make better decisions about the future.
We have assembled a team of researchers, analysts, designers, and developers who are passionate about creating meaningful impact. If you are motivated by purpose-driven work and want to help solve complex real-world challenges, this role could be a great fit.
About the Role
Business Development Coordinator supporting Urban Intelligence's growth across New Zealand and Australia's climate adaptation and resilience sectors. Owns target account research, CRM discipline, and proposal coordination to enable our senior business development function.
This role sits at the intersection of business development, operations, and client engagement. Working closely with our Strategic Growth, Customer Success, Product, and Research teams, you will help ensure opportunities progress effectively through the pipeline while supporting proposals, RFPs, demos, account research, and ongoing client engagement activities.
Your core deliverable is a weekly target account pack that enables our senior business development function to focus its outreach. Alongside this, you will own HubSpot discipline, run pipeline reporting, support proposal and RFP development, and conduct market and competitor research to inform our growth strategy.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, proactive, commercially aware, and interested in climate adaptation, infrastructure, technology, or consulting. It offers exposure to a rapidly evolving sector and strong opportunities for growth and development.
About You
You are highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple moving pieces simultaneously. You enjoy creating structure, maintaining momentum, and helping teams operate effectively.
You are a strong communicator who is confident interacting with a wide range of stakeholders and coordinating across technical, commercial, and operational teams. You are detail-oriented and take pride in ensuring tasks, follow-ups, and deliverables are completed to a high standard.
You may come from a background in business development coordination, sales operations, consulting support, customer success, project coordination, or a related field. Experience working with CRM systems, proposals, or client-facing environments would be highly valuable.
An interest in emergency management, adaptation planning, land use planning, asset and infrastructure management, resilience, or public sector work is advantageous, but equally important is your willingness to learn and contribute to a mission-driven organisation.
Most importantly, you are someone who enjoys helping teams succeed, thrives in collaborative environments, and wants to contribute to work that has a meaningful long-term impact.
