About the Role

We're looking for an ambitious and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to join our Enterprise Team.

As part of a close-knit team of experienced Business Development Managers, you'll be responsible for identifying and developing opportunities with large, levy-paying organisations. Through a combination of research, outreach, relationship building, and consultative selling, you'll introduce prospective clients to KnowledgeBrief's apprenticeship and professional development solutions.

Enterprise sales is rarely about quick wins. Success in this role comes from understanding client challenges, building credibility with senior stakeholders, and nurturing opportunities through longer sales cycles. You'll engage with HR Directors, Learning & Development leaders, Chief People Officers, and other decision-makers to understand their workforce development goals and demonstrate how our programmes can help achieve them.

This role would suit someone who is professional, commercially aware, and confident building relationships with senior leaders within large organisations.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Develop new business opportunities with enterprise and levy-paying organisations
  • Research target organisations and build strategic outreach campaigns
  • Generate and nurture opportunities through a combination of telephone, email, LinkedIn, in-person networking and marketing activity
  • Achieve individual and team targets for apprenticeship starts and commercial growth
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders including HR, L&D, Talent, and People leaders
  • Deliver engaging meetings, presentations, and platform demonstrations
  • Develop tailored proposals and solutions aligned to client needs
  • Manage opportunities through the sales pipeline and maintain accurate CRM records
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Commercial, Marketing, Curriculum, and Operations teams
  • Build long-term client relationships that support sustainable growth and repeat business

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Previous experience in business development, sales, account management, or client relationship management
  • Experience engaging with senior decision-makers
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of opportunities and work towards targets
  • A proactive, resilient, and self-motivated approach
  • Passion for learning, development, and helping organisations grow their people
  • Strong organisation, planning, and time management skills
  • Professional, credible, and confident in client-facing environments
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Desirable

  • Experience within apprenticeships, training, education, learning technology, or professional services (highly desirable)
  • Experience selling to enterprise or levy-paying organisations
  • Experience using CRM systems and sales engagement tools
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship funding and workforce development solutions
  • Experience delivering presentations, proposals, or consultative sales meetings

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is aligned with our values and culture
  • Builds strong and authentic relationships
  • Communicates confidently and professionally
  • Represents KnowledgeBrief positively in every interaction
