Career Counselor

Waad Academy Schools is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Career Counselor to join our team.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in guiding students throughout their academic journey and helping them explore career pathways. This position involves working closely with students, faculty, and parents to ensure comprehensive career guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to support students in identifying their interests, strengths, and career aspirations.
• Develop and organize career-related programs, workshops, and events to inform students about various career options and required qualifications.
• Assist students with college and university applications, scholarship opportunities, and resume writing.
• Connect students with internships, job shadowing opportunities, and mentorship programs.
• Conduct career assessments and facilitate discussions regarding career choices, interests, and goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate career education into the academic curriculum.
• Maintain relationships with local businesses, colleges, and organizations to promote student engagement and opportunities.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Career Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in career counseling or guidance, preferably in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of various career paths, college admission processes, and workplace readiness skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of managing program logistics and providing clear guidance.
• Ability to stay informed about labor market trends and changes in educational pathways relevant to students' career choices.
