As a Casual On-Call Residential Support Worker, you will be part of a supportive team promoting wellbeing and working alongside people to achieve their personal recovery goals. You’ll support daily living, provide routine and structure, facilitate group activities, and empower individuals on their recovery journey.


About the Role | Mō te tūnga

This role forms part of a 24/7 rostered residential support team, with shifts based on service needs.

You will:

  • Work in partnership with residents to identify strengths and goals
  • Support daily activities, wellbeing, and recovery-focused practice
  • Encourage connection with whānau, culture, and community
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication (including handovers and systems)
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment
  • Escalate risks appropriately and engage in supervision and reflective practice


What You Will Bring | Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu

Essential:

  • Experience in Mental Health and Addictions support
  • Understanding of recovery-focused, strengths-based practice
  • Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice
  • Strong communication, organisation, and computer skills
  • Full driver’s licence

Great to have:

  • Relevant qualification or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of community and statutory services

Pay & Conditions
  • Hourly Rate: $26.00 per hour
  • Employment Type: Casual (on-call)
  • Roster: Shifts across a 24/7 service, including evenings, weekends, wake shifts, and public holidays
  • Hours: No guaranteed hours, based on service needs
