Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious CDL Driver to support our heavy civil construction operations. The ideal candidate has experience transporting heavy equipment, materials, and machinery to and from job sites, and is familiar with DOT regulations and job site protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain Class A or B commercial vehicles (e.g., dump trucks, lowboys, flatbeds) to transport construction materials and equipment.
- Load and unload materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and report maintenance issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with field crews and project managers to coordinate deliveries and pickups.
- Maintain accurate driving logs and delivery documentation.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL Class A or B license (Class A preferred). Tanker Endorsement
- Minimum of 2 years of experience driving commercial vehicles in a construction environment.
- Knowledge of DOT and OSHA safety regulations.
- Ability to safely operate and maneuver vehicles in tight job site conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including early mornings and some weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience hauling heavy construction equipment.
- Tanker and Hazmat preferred.
- Familiarity with bridge or highway job sites.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
