About this role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join their rehabilitation team. Under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will provide restorative and rehabilitative services both in the center and in participants' homes, to maximize independence, safety, and quality of life in daily activities (ADLs). The COTA will collaborate with therapists and other care team members to carry out individualized care plans designed to support each participant's functional abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer treatment programs as prescribed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist with obtaining participant vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing.
  • Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to implement therapeutic activities tailored to each participant's needs.
  • Schedule participant treatments, manage clinical visits, and assist with billing processes.
  • Monitor, track, and maintain therapy equipment.
  • Deliver and document interventions in accordance with established care plans, including the use of therapeutic devices, re-education techniques, and activities that enhance motor, cognitive, balance, endurance, and functional skills for ADLs.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
  • For degrees earned outside the U.S., proof of equivalency to a U.S. Occupational Therapy Assistant degree.
  • Active California COTA license or proof of license eligibility.
  • Reliable means of transportation.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a COTA in a clinical setting, preferably working with frail or elderly populations.
  • Strong knowledge and ability to provide therapy to older adults with complex needs.
