About this role

CNC Machinists(Grinders and EDM Operators) required for Weekend Day Shift – 05:45 – 17:45 (Fri–Sun) to join a well-established, growing manufacturer supplying high-precision components to the aerospace and power generation industries in Wigston.

The role

You’ll operate CNC machinery to produce high-quality, precision components, ensuring all work meets strict quality and customer standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating CNC Grinding or EDM Machines, ensuring that parts are machined in accordance with the agreed method specification.
  • Attain machine setting skills to enable machine set ups in line with Company requirements
  • Understanding of engineering drawings, ensuring that fixtures are correctly aligned.
  • Inspecting parts in line with quality procedures and taking any necessary, approved, action to resolve quality issues
  • Operating CMM machines to support inspection requirement.
  • Consistently achieving all targets (production, quality, housekeeping etc), as set by the Cell Manager
  • Adherence to all company policy’s and procedures, including SOX, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety.
  • Working in full compliance with quality, safety and company procedures

Desirables:

·Previous experience in CNC Grinding or EDM is advantageous but not essential.

·Experience within an Aerospace sector is advantageous.

·Positive attitude and a keenness to learn.

·Experience with CNC programme editing or basic G code adjustments.

·Strong attention to detail.

·Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

·Strong problem solving mindset.

Requirements

Requirements for the position of the CNC Operator:

·Demonstrated experience in CNC machining and/or a strong academic background in engineering, ideally supported by a recognised machining apprenticeship.

·Previous experience working with metal components.

·Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

·Proficient in conducting self-inspection of machined components using manual measurement tools.
