Composites Manufacturing Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Composites Manufacturing Engineer to join our team and support the development, scale-up, and optimization of advanced composite structures for aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in composite materials and processes, coupled with hands-on manufacturing experience in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop, implement, and optimize composite manufacturing processes (layup, cure, bonding, trimming, machining, and assembly).
· Translate engineering requirements into robust manufacturing work instructions and tooling concepts.
· Collaborate with design engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability, repeatability, and cost-effectiveness of composite parts.
· Conduct process development trials and lead root cause analysis for non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
· Define tooling requirements and support the design, procurement, and qualification of new tooling and fixtures.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives in cycle time reduction, yield improvement, and automation of composite processes.
· Prepare and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), travelers, and control plans.
· Support supplier qualification and technical reviews for composite materials and processes.
· Train and mentor technicians and junior engineers on composite processes and best practices.
· Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASTM, SAE, NADCAP) and internal quality requirements.
