As a Configuration Technician you would be responsible for following platform documentation, AHEAD Methods, and Production defaults in order to properly apply customer specific, order specific and hardware specific software

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Install and configure various operating systems across a wide range of hardware.
  • Create and configure RAID arrays.
  • Flash custom BIOS and firmware into hardware.
  • Install software images through internal PXE environment.
  • Troubleshoot computer hardware issues.
  • Communicate production problems with Production, Engineering and Sales
    departments.
  • Assemble computer hardware from build documentation.
  • Identify and quarantine defective hardware.
  • Perform visual inspection on systems and accessory boxes.
  • Perform diagnostic testing using 3rd party software such as PCDr or MemTest as well as
    manufacturer software such as Seatools.
  • Identify and log discrepancies that vary between the build and the work instruction.
  • May be required to work extended hours as needed during peak times.
  • Work as an assembly technician or fulfill other roles as needed.

  • Education and Experience

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1 – 3 years in the assembly manufacturing field.
  • Experience using computer and e-mail, including some proficiency in Microsoft office
    products desired.
  • Must have experience with computer hardware.
  • Experience with various operating systems desired.
  • Linux experience preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Work well with others and demonstrate a great work ethic.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job.
  • Must be able to work additional hours and weekends when required
  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA
    and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative
    productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal,
    state, and local standards.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
