About the role

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join our Operations team supporting the Marinus Link HDD Works. This role will provide commercial, financial and contractual support to the Commercial Manager and Project Manager to help deliver successful project outcomes.

The position will initially be office based in Perth, Melbourne or Brisbane, with regular travel to Perth if based elsewhere. The role is expected to transition to a site-based roster at Waratah Bay, Victoria from November 2026, with project activities also associated with Victoria and Tasmania.

Key responsibilities

  • Administer head contract, subcontract and supplier agreements in consultation with the Commercial Manager, Project Manager and package leads
  • Monitor contractual obligations, notice requirements, time bars, response periods and key deadlines to ensure requirements are understood and actioned
  • Manage variation, change management and claims processes, ensuring changes are assessed, priced, approved and formally recorded
  • Prepare, submit, review and certify progress claims in accordance with contractual and statutory requirements, including relevant Security of Payment obligations
  • Maintain accurate registers, audit trails, correspondence records, payment status information and supporting documentation
  • Support procurement and tender activities, including RFQ packages, commercial evaluations, award recommendations and contract documentation
  • Review subcontractor and supplier pricing, terms and conditions, identifying contractual risks and ensuring alignment with head contract requirements
  • Work closely with cost control and project teams to support monthly reporting, forecasting, cost tracking and commercial decision making
  • Assist with contractual correspondence, delay and disruption claims, position papers, dispute support and commercial risk management
  • Support the close-out of subcontract, supplier and head contract packages, including final accounts, securities, retention, close-out reporting and project archiving

About you

  • Relevant qualification in Business, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum five years’ project contract and cost administration experience, ideally across at least two previous project environments
  • Proven experience administering contracts, contractors, subcontractors and supplier packages in a project delivery environment
  • Strong commercial capability, including cost control, financial reporting, change management, claims administration and contract close-out
  • Highly numerate, analytical and detail focused, with the ability to identify trends, reporting errors, risks and opportunities
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with exposure to Sage X3 ERP or similar systems desirable but not essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear contractual correspondence and commercial documentation
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, problem-solving, planning and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, resilient and collaborative approach, with a strong focus on safety, quality, compliance and continuous improvement
  • Willingness to be initially based in Perth, Melbourne or Brisbane and mobilise to a site-based roster in Waratah Bay, Victoria from November 2026
