As a Control Panel Inspector, you'll serve as the final checkpoint on the production floor, ensuring every panel meets engineering requirements, workmanship standards, and customer expectations before shipment. You'll work closely with electricians, testers, engineering, and production teams to support quality throughout the build process and help drive consistency across the shop floor.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Control Panel Inspector, you will:

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of control panels and electrical assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering requirements, workmanship standards, and customer expectations
  • Verify control panel builds against electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), and established manufacturing standards
  • Conduct multi-point quality checks throughout production to identify workmanship issues, assembly discrepancies, and potential quality concerns before shipment
  • Review traveler documents, inspection records, and testing documentation to confirm required manufacturing and quality procedures have been completed
  • Identify nonconformances, coordinate corrective actions, and verify issues have been resolved prior to release
  • Prepare completed panels for UL Manufacturer's Technical Representative (MTR) review and provide final approval for shipment through Certificate of Conformance (CoC) sign-off
  • Serve as a primary point of contact during customer, compliance, and quality audits, partnering with organizations such as Siemens, TUV, and other related groups as needed
  • Coach and mentor electricians and Electrical Testers on workmanship standards, quality expectations, and best practices across the production floor
  • Partner with production, engineering, and product specialist teams to identify recurring issues and support continuous improvement in build quality and manufacturing consistency

Experience and Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • 3-5 years of experience in control panel manufacturing, industrial controls, switchgear, motor control, electrical assembly, testing, inspection, or related industrial electrical environments
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and Bills of Material (BOMs)
  • Hands-on experience building, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, or inspecting industrial control panels, electrical assemblies, switchgear, MCCs, PLC panels, or similar equipment
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical components, including relays, contactors, breakers, terminal blocks, power supplies, PLC I/O, drives, and control circuits
  • Experience identifying workmanship issues, wiring discrepancies, missing components, incorrect terminations, and other assembly-related quality concerns
  • Experience using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, continuity testers, insulation resistance testers, or similar tools
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback, mentorship, and guidance within a production environment
  • High attention to detail with a focus on workmanship, quality, and continuous improvement

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with UL 508A, NEC, NFPA 70, or other applicable electrical standards
  • Experience supporting customer, compliance, or third-party audits, including organizations such as Siemens, TUV, or similar entities
  • Experience with nonconformance reporting (NCRs), corrective actions, root cause analysis, or quality management systems
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or providing technical guidance within a production or manufacturing environment
