Responsibilities,
prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, menus, and dietary requirements (including modified diets such as low sodium, diabetic, or texture-modified diets)
Ensure food is properly portioned, plated, and presented in an appetizing manner
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines in compliance with state, local, and facility regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, equipment, and food storage areas
Assist with inventory management, including stocking, labeling, and rotating food supplies (FIFO method)
Collaborate with dietary managers, nursing staff, and other kitchen team members to accommodate residents’ dietary needs and preferences
Monitor food quality and temperature to ensure safety and consistency
Participate in kitchen cleaning schedules and deep cleaning tasks
Support special events, holidays, and catered meals as required
Qualifications
Must have Cook experience
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain)
Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines accurately
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs as needed
