About the Role

This is a key role within our Construction & Trades team and will suit an ambitious education professional who can combine excellent teaching practice with curriculum leadership, quality assurance and industry engagement. Due to the specialist nature of the post, successful teaching experience is essential and candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong track record of delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment that leads to outstanding learner outcomes.

As Course Leader, you will teach on Brickwork programmes while taking responsibility for the leadership and quality of the curriculum area. You will lead on course administration, assessment planning, quality assurance processes, curriculum development and learner achievement.

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with the Curriculum Manager, you will:
  • Deliver outstanding teaching and learning across Level 1–3 Brickwork programmes.
  • Lead quality assurance activities including assessment schedules, internal verification planning and qualification claims.
  • Develop schemes of learning and curriculum resources aligned to industry needs.
  • Monitor learner progress, attendance and achievement, ensuring high expectations for all students.
  • Build strong relationships with employers and industry partners to ensure an employer-led curriculum.
  • Support students' personal development, employability skills and progression opportunities.
  • Promote excellence in teaching practice and share best practice across the team.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • A minimum Level 3 qualification in Brickwork or a relevant vocational area.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Certificate in Education or equivalent).
  • Proven successful teaching experience across a range of levels, including Level 3.
  • Recent industry experience within the construction/brickwork sector.
  • Strong knowledge of vocational assessment, quality assurance and awarding body requirements.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and challenge learners to achieve their full potential.
