Job Responsibilities
- Provide high-focus, specialized nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients requiring frequent, intensive monitoring.
- Perform continuous clinical assessments, interpret complex data, and autonomously manage appropriate treatment interventions.
- Serve as the dedicated patient and family advocate, ensuring the protection of patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Instruct patients and their families thoroughly regarding new medications, ongoing treatment plans, and necessary follow-up care instructions.
- Collaborate effectively with cardiologists, intensivists, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure cohesive and excellent patient care.
- Respond immediately to acute changes in patient condition, utilizing advanced life support protocols and critical thinking skills.
- Provide care with a strong commitment to continuous professional improvement and adherence to best practices in critical care nursing.
Requirements
Education
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN) experience is **required **.
- Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting is highly desirable.
Certifications/Licenses
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or able to obtain licensure prior to start is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is **required **.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within six (6) months of hire.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) is a plus, but must be obtained within two (2) years of hire.
