AI Summary

A Data Regulation Counsel advises on GDPR and broader technology regulatory matters, translating legal requirements into operational processes and supporting Veo’s compliance program across product, IT, security, and business teams.

About this role

Veo is a global leader in AI-based sports camera technology. Our innovative, fully automatic camera solution enables sports teams to record matches and training sessions without a camera operator. We’re democratizing the world of sports by granting video analysis for teams on all levels—a privilege that used to be only for the few. More than 50,000 clubs in 90+ countries record their games every week.
Growing as fast as we do in Veo means that every day is different, exciting, and challenging, both on the front line and in the back office.

But that’s not the most remarkable thing about us.

The coolest thing is our people. We’ve attracted some of the brightest minds in the industry. They are the reason we can create a great product and do it while enjoying ourselves.

We are looking for a Data Regulation Counsel to support Veo’s work within data protection and emerging technology regulation. You will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of Veo’s compliance framework and help ensure that our products, services, development, and internal processes meet applicable regulatory requirements.

You will be part of the Legal & Compliance Team and work closely with it, currently consisting of five full-time employees and a student assistant, as well as colleagues across IT, Security, Product, and other business areas. While the primary focus of the role is GDPR compliance, your tasks will also involve operational compliance related to NIS2, the Data Act, the Cyber Resilience Act, and the AI Act.

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing Legal & Compliance function and help build scalable, pragmatic compliance processes at a company experiencing significant growth and continuous development.

You can expect tasks within a variety of areas, including:

  • Supporting the implementation and day-to-day operation of Veo’s data regulation compliance framework, ensuring that established processes are followed and continuously improved.

  • Assisting in ensuring that Veo’s products, services, and internal data processing activities comply with applicable data regulation requirements.

  • Providing practical and solution-oriented support to teams across Veo on data regulation matters, with a focus on translating legal requirements into operational processes.

  • Drafting, updating, and maintaining relevant policies, procedures, and documentation, including privacy notices, records of processing activities, transfer impact assessments, incident response procedures, and documentation required under the regulatory frameworks.

  • Supporting the handling of operational compliance tasks, including data subject rights requests, personal data breaches, and security incidents, as well as a broad palette of ad hoc questions.

  • Assisting with conducting and maintaining risk and impact assessments.

  • Contributing to drafting and facilitating training and awareness initiatives.

  • Supporting the management of third-party relationships from a compliance perspective, including assisting with due diligence, contractual requirements, and ongoing monitoring.

  • Contributing to the ongoing monitoring, development, optimization, and, where relevant, automation of compliance processes, ensuring that Veo’s approach remains scalable and aligned with business needs.

  • Previous experience with any of the above is not required.

    Your qualifications:

  • Graduate with a master’s degree in law, business law, or a related field from one of the Nordic countries.

  • 2-4 years of experience working with GDPR and/or data regulation, either in-house or in a consultancy/law firm setting.

  • An interest in and basic understanding of broader technology regulation (e.g. NIS2, AI Act, Data Act), with a willingness to develop within these areas.

  • A pragmatic and structured approach to problem-solving with the ability to translate legal requirements into commercial and operational solutions.

  • An interest in working closely with stakeholders across different functions and with varying professional backgrounds.

  • A solid understanding of and interest in technology and artificial intelligence.

  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
