Monday – Friday | 8am – 4pm
As a Day Camp Counselor, you’ll deliver safe, inclusive, and engaging programming for children while helping create a fun and supportive camp environment. You’ll plan activities, supervise campers, and ensure every child feels welcomed, safe, and encouraged.
🌟 Essential Responsibilities
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities such as archery, canoeing, swimming, arts & crafts, games, and group activities.
- Supervise a group of 8–10 campers, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Actively participate in activities, including swimming with campers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized camp environment.
- Prepare daily supplies and communicate needs to the Camp Director.
- Document and report incidents, accidents, or safety concerns promptly.
- Communicate professionally with parents and refer concerns to supervisors as needed.
- Serve as a positive role model, following camp policies and wearing the staff uniform and photo ID.
- Encourage feedback through program evaluations to help improve camp experiences.
✅ Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age and/or possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with children is preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- CPR/AED certification required or able to obtain within 30 days of hire
💪 Physical & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and physical activity
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to noise, allergens, large groups, and active environments
- Ability to remain professional under deadlines and while handling concerns
