DELIVERY TRUCK DRIVER

The Delivery Driver reports to the Warehouse Manager and the Warehouse Supervisor. He or she is responsible for the prompt delivery of a variety of products to CPJ customers across the island.

Duties and responsibilities may include:

• Delivers goods timely to assigned CPJ customers at various locations.
• Maintains proper delivery records e.g. goods return report, cash receipt report, customer delivery report.
• Assists with the loading and off loading of trucks as required.
• Ensures the efficient operation of the assigned vehicle used for delivery e.g. daily inspections of tyres, radiator, oil level etc.
• Reviews and ensures that documents for truck are valid e.g. Insurance, Certificate of Fitness, Carriage Licences, Registration.
• Ensures that gas tank is filled before returning truck to base.
• Maintains cleanliness of truck cab.
• Signs all trip sheets before departing from warehouse.
• Ensures that all invoices are signed by customers indicating receipt of items delivered.
• Documents and ensures changes to invoices are signed by customers upon delivery.
• Collects payments from C.O.D customers.
• Checks off all delivery slips and hands over cash or cheques received from customers to Receivables via Drop Box upon return to the Warehouse.
• Accounts for all goods returned after a delivery by liaising with the Warehouse Supervisor/Warehouse Manager.
• Handles queries and provide excellent service to customers.
• Provides customers’ feedback and reports delivery related issues to the Warehouse Supervisor in order to improve service levels.
• Provides supervision to Sidemen assigned to the route.
• Effectively completes all other activities as delegated by the supervising authorities.

Required Qualifications

• The successful candidate must possess a High School certificate
• A minimum of three (3) years work related experience, preferably in the retail/hospitality industry
• Valid General Open Licence is required.
• Ability to pass the Driving Test administered by CPJ personnel.
