A Demi Chef de Partie is a junior chef position in a professional kitchen, working under the Chef de Partie (station chef) to manage a specific section of the kitchen efficiently and maintain food quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to recipes and standards.
• Ensure mise en place is completed before service.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the assigned section.
• Monitor stock levels and inform senior chefs about shortages.
• Follow food safety and HACCP procedures.
• Help train and guide commis chefs or kitchen assistants.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients.
• Support smooth kitchen service during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts is preferred.
• 1–3 years of kitchen experience in hotels, resorts, or restaurants.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Understanding of hygiene and safety regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Teamwork and communication skills.
• Creativity and attention to detail.
