Deputy Director of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault & Community Engagement Programs

The Deputy Director of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault & Community Engagement Programs provides operational leadership and management support for all agency programs serving survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Greater Prince William. Working under the direction of the Director, this position oversees daily program operations, supervises staff, ensures high-quality trauma-informed, survivor-centered services, leads community education and prevention initiatives, and supports grant compliance, program evaluation, and strategic community partnerships. The Deputy Director serves as the operational leader for the department, oversees ACTS' domestic violence and sexual assault prevention and outreach efforts, and acts on behalf of the Director during their absence to ensure continuity of services.

Position Title and Department: Deputy Director of Domestic Violence Services and Sexual Assault ^ Community Engagement Services, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services

Salary: $73,500.00 ($1000 additional per year for bilingual capability in English and Spanish, French or Arabic and $1000 additional per year for additional degree of value to ACTS.) 

Reports to:  Director of Domestic Violence, and Sexual Assault Services

Hours per week and Schedule: 40 hours; Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

• Supervises assigned domestic violence and sexual assault program staff.

• Assists with recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.

• Conducts regular supervision meetings and supports employee development.

• Assists with scheduling, staffing coordination, and operational coverage.

• Oversees community education, outreach, volunteer, and internship activities assigned.

• Serves as Acting Director during the Director's absence.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Assists the Director in overseeing daily operations of domestic violence and sexual assault programs.
2. Ensures services are trauma-informed, survivor-centered, culturally responsive, and aligned with agency standards and best practices.
3. Provides day-to-day operational leadership and supervision of program staff.
4. Assists with implementation and evaluation of departmental goals, policies, procedures, and service delivery models.
5. Monitors program quality and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
6. Provides consultation and guidance on complex or high-risk client cases.
7. Supports coordination of multidisciplinary responses involving law enforcement, healthcare providers, courts, and community partners.
8. Assists with monitoring departmental budgets and expenditures in collaboration with the Director and Finance.
9. Supports grant administration, reporting, monitoring, and compliance activities.
10. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local funding requirements, including VOCA, VAWA, FVPSA, and other grant requirements.
11. Reviews program documentation to ensure compliance with agency policies and funding requirements.
12. Oversee program data collection, quality assurance, and reporting processes.
13. Uses program data to identify trends, improve service delivery, and support grant reporting.
14. Assists with preparation of reports for agency leadership and funders.
15. Serves as a spokesperson for agency programs as needed.
16. Represents the agency on community committees, multidisciplinary teams, public forums, schools, healthcare organizations, and collaborative initiatives assigned.
17. Leads the development and implementation of community education, prevention, and outreach initiatives that increase awareness of domestic violence, sexual assault, healthy relationships, consent, bystander intervention, and available ACTS services.
18. Develops and delivers educational presentations, workshops, and trainings for schools, colleges, businesses, healthcare providers, faith communities, civic organizations, and community partners.
19. Coordinates outreach activities during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, and other public awareness campaigns.
20. Builds and maintains collaborative partnerships with schools, businesses, healthcare providers, law enforcement, community organizations, and other stakeholders to strengthen prevention efforts and increase access to ACTS services.
21. Develops outreach strategies to engage underserved populations and expand community awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault resources.
22. Oversees the development and distribution of educational materials, outreach resources, brochures, presentations, and digital content to ensure information is current, accurate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive.
23. Tracks outreach activities, community engagement, and prevention outcomes, ensuring accurate reporting and supporting grant reporting requirements.
24. Collaborates with advocacy staff to ensure appropriate referrals and seamless access to services for community members.
