This is a senior Android engineering role focused on building high-performance, scalable, and user-centric mobile applications in Kotlin. You will contribute to the architecture and evolution of complex mobile products, including solutions with offline capabilities, integrations with enterprise systems, and real-time data synchronization. Working in an agile and collaborative environment, you will play a key role in defining technical standards, improving system performance, and ensuring robust and secure mobile experiences. The position also involves mentoring other engineers, supporting architectural decisions, and driving continuous improvement across the mobile development lifecycle. Accountabilities:
- Design and implement scalable Android architectures using MVVM, Clean Architecture principles, and modern Kotlin practices, ensuring maintainability and performance across complex applications.
- Develop and maintain robust mobile features, including integrations with REST/SOAP APIs, Firebase services, push notifications, and external enterprise systems.
- Optimize application performance through profiling, debugging, and continuous improvement of UI responsiveness, memory usage, and background processing.
- Implement offline-first strategies using Room, WorkManager, caching, and synchronization mechanisms for reliable user experiences in all network conditions.
- Lead technical initiatives such as code reviews, refactoring, architectural migrations (e.g., XML to Jetpack Compose), and CI/CD improvements for mobile pipelines.
- Ensure application security and compliance through encryption, biometric authentication, secure communication, and adherence to accessibility standards (Material 3).
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level developers, promoting engineering best practices and contributing to a high-performance mobile engineering culture.
- 5+ years of experience in Android development with strong expertise in Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.
- Solid knowledge of Jetpack components (Compose, ViewModel, Navigation, Coroutines, Flow) and MVVM/Clean Architecture.
- Proven experience building and maintaining complex mobile applications with integrations such as payments, PDV systems, or fiscal APIs (e.g., NF-e).
- Strong understanding of performance optimization, debugging, and scalability challenges in Android applications.
- Experience publishing apps on Google Play Store and supporting diverse Android devices and OS versions.
- Familiarity with testing strategies, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines using Gradle.
- Desirable: experience with Firebase, Kotlin Multiplatform, OAuth, certificates, and advanced mobile security practices.
