DESIGN & CONCEPT COORDINATOR

Do you love helping people transform their homes but hate high-pressure sales?

At Ackard, we believe great renovations start with great conversations.

We're looking for someone who can build trust, uncover what clients truly need, and guide homeowners through the exciting early stages of their renovation journey. This role blends consultative sales, design thinking, and project coordination to help clients move confidently from ideas to a renovation plan that fits their goals, lifestyle, and budget.

What You'll Do

As a Design & Concept Coordinator, you'll be the first point of contact for homeowners considering a renovation. Through thoughtful conversations and site visits, you'll help clients clarify their goals, explore possibilities, and develop a renovation plan that aligns with their vision and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and follow up on incoming sales leads.
  • Conduct consultative calls and in-home visits to understand client goals, challenges, design preferences, and budget expectations.
  • Guide homeowners through Ackard's sales and design process, helping them make informed renovation decisions.
  • Develop renovation concepts and collaborate with drafting, estimating, and construction teams to bring ideas to life.
  • Present design concepts, project scope, and budget information in a clear, professional, and engaging manner.
  • Coordinate project information and ensure a smooth transition from design to construction.
  • Build strong client relationships through trust, communication, and exceptional service.
  • Participate in weekly sales and team meetings while providing updates on leads and active projects.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to deliver an outstanding client experience.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in residential design, renovation sales, interior design, or a similar client-facing role.
  • Certificate in Interior Design or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong consultative sales skills with the ability to build trust and guide clients through important decisions.
  • Passion for design, concept development, and creating spaces clients love.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Experience with design software such as Chief Architect, SketchUp, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word; working knowledge of Excel is an asset.
  • Friendly, personable, and customer-focused approach.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with multiple teams.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and advance your career with Ackard.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based with regular computer and design software use.
  • Regular site visits to prospective client homes.
  • Occasional exposure to active construction environments where PPE may be required.
  • Standard weekday hours with occasional flexibility for client meetings and project deadlines.
  • Frequent collaboration with clients, internal teams, and suppliers.
  • Occasional lifting generally under 15 lbs.

What We Offer

We believe great people deserve great support. Here's what you can expect when you work with us:

  • Be part of an award-winning residential renovation company with over 40 years of success and a strong track record of continued growth.
  • Competitive compensation that reflects your skills and experience.
  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits through Sun Life.
  • Employee & Family Assistance Program.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Life insurance.
  • Voluntary RRSP plan with company contributions.
  • Professional development, training, and career growth opportunities.
  • Paid personal and sick time.
  • Positive, team-driven culture built on collaboration and respect.
  • Birthday, work anniversary, and milestone recognition.
  • Christmas holiday shutdown.
  • Team-building and social events.
