We’re looking for a Design Engineer who can bridge product design and front-end engineering to create magical, intuitive user experiences for creative AI tools.

About the Role

This is not a “design hands off to engineering” role.

You will own experiences end-to-end: from interaction concepts and visual systems to polished production implementations. You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to turn cutting-edge generative capabilities into interfaces that feel simple, expressive, and alive.

You should be equally excited by:

• Designing elegant interaction flows

• Building high-performance interfaces in React

• Refining motion and micro-interactions

• Prototyping experimental UX patterns

• Shipping production-ready systems at startup speed

What You’ll Do

• Design and build world-class user experiences for AI-native creative products

• Translate complex AI workflows into intuitive, approachable interfaces

• Prototype and ship new interaction patterns for generative media tools

• Implement polished front-end experiences using React, TypeScript, and modern web technologies

• Create fluid animations, transitions, and micro-interactions that elevate product quality

• Collaborate closely with product designers, ML engineers, and prompt engineers to rapidly iterate on new concepts

• Build scalable component systems and reusable UI primitives

• Drive visual consistency, accessibility, and front-end performance across products

• Push the boundaries of what AI-powered creative software can feel like

What We’re Looking For

Core Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in front-end engineering, design engineering, or product-focused UI development

• Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional UI craft, interaction design, and shipped products

• Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern component architectures

• Strong visual and interaction design sensibilities — typography, spacing, motion, hierarchy, affordances

• Experience building polished production interfaces, not just prototypes

• Ability to balance speed and quality in a fast-moving startup environment

• Strong understanding of accessibility, responsiveness, and front-end performance

• Systems thinking — you design scalable primitives, not one-off screens

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Bonus Points

• Experience working on creative tools, AI products, developer tools, or media software

• Experience designing for video, image, or multimodal AI workflows

• Active use of AI coding/design tools like Claude, Codex, v0, or Lovable

• Personal projects, experiments, or side products you’ve shipped
