The Opportunity
Contract: 1 year, with potential for extension
Location: Melbourne, hybrid.

We’re looking for a DevSecOps Consultant to join one of our teams, working with a large telecommunications client on a mobile‑first delivery program. This role focuses on supporting secure, reliable delivery across backend microservices, APIs, and iOS applications.

You’ll collaborate closely with backend engineers, mobile engineers, QA, and platform teams to embed security, automation, and observability into the delivery lifecycle—helping teams move confidently from build through to production.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub to support Node.js and TypeScript backend services, REST APIs, and iOS mobile applications, ensuring streamlined, consistent, and repeatable deployments across all environments.
• Integrate pipeline tooling such as Fastlane (iOS build/test automation), CocoaPods or Swift Package Manager (dependency management), and Gradle or npm (backend automation)
• Embed security controls into build and release pipelines, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT-based authentication, and secure secrets management.
• Support API-driven, mobile-first delivery, working with contract-first API design (OpenAPI), versioned interfaces, release coordination, and environment promotion.
• Enable secure and reliable mobile and service-to-service authentication flows, supporting modern identity and authorisation standards.
• Integrate automated testing into delivery pipelines, including API tests, contract tests, and iOS build and test execution.
• Design and operate monitoring, logging, and alerting using AWS tooling, providing visibility into service health, performance, and reliability.
• Support containerised and serverless workloads running on AWS, including compute, API management, monitoring, and logging services.
• Partner with engineering and QA teams to improve deployment consistency, traceability, and auditability across environments.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts and tooling to automate AWS infrastructure workflows, deployments, and operational processes
• Support operational readiness, including release sign off, rollback strategies, production support, and incident response.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in DevSecOps or DevOps roles supporting backend microservices and mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of secure API delivery, authentication, authorisation, and service-to-service security.
• Hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Github for both backend services and iOS applications.
• Familiarity with automated testing strategies for APIs and mobile apps, and integrating them into pipelines.
• Experience supporting production reliability, observability, and incident response.
