Responsibilities of the Director of Finance:
- Analyze and present financial reports and oversee all financial, project and grants accounting.
- Lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors.
- Oversee the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the ED; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes; and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
- Oversee LIHTC compliance & long-term monitoring of affordable housing developments.
- Serve as the primary financial liaison to lenders and equity investors on affordable housing developments.
- Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
- Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/ reporting system.
- Update and implement all necessary accounting practices and policies.
- Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the board of directors.
- Demonstrated supervisory, training, and collaboration experience.
- Identify and troubleshoot trends in income and expenses.
- Attend Board Finance Committee meetings and full Board meetings to provide financial updates.
