Key Responsibilities:
- Shares shipping preparation responsibilities
- Makes deliveries or pickups using Ace truck
- Interfaces with customer and vendor shipping operations
- Responsible for coordinating runs including prioritizing routes and optimizing drive times
- Responsible for securing loads and ensures there is a safe and secure load before leaving the shipping site
- Responsible for truck safety and meeting truck compliance needs
- Provides preventative maintenance, cleaning, and daily inspections of Ace truck
- Fills out a weekly driver log book when traveling over 100 miles or out of state
Projects as Assigned.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Always wear personal protective equipment when in the plant
- Participate in all required safety training and perform as trained
- Speak up when you see something happening that is not safe
- Always drive in a safe manner and obey traffic laws
- Do Not text while driving
Qualifications:
- Valid or able to get Class C driver’s license from the State of Illinois (CDL preferred but not mandatory)
- Ability to follow directions.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems
- Customer friendly attitude.
- Knowledge of packing and shipping procedures
- Ability to safely use material handling equipment including hoists, cranes, and forklifts.
This is a safety sensitive position.
