Role Overview:

The Business Central Developer is responsible for the design, development, customization, and maintenance of application extensions built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The role requires advanced proficiency in AL programming, extension-based development architecture, and ERP financial transaction logic within a cloud SaaS environment.

The position supports implementation, enhancement, and integration initiatives while ensuring upgrade-safe development aligned with Microsoft platform standards.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Develop and maintain AL-based extensions for Business Central.

  • Create and modify tables, pages, reports (RDLC/Word), codeunits, and queries.

  • Implement event-driven subscriber models to avoid base object modification.

  • Ensure all development adheres to extension-only architecture requirements.

  • Debug and resolve application defects in sandbox and production environments.

  • Configure and extend functionality across Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Jobs, and Manufacturing modules.

  • Develop and consume REST and OData APIs.

  • Implement secure integrations using JSON-based data exchange.

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define and deliver new features and enhancements.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while following best practices in software engineering.

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across the application stack.

  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve skills and processes.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation for reference and reporting purposes.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • 3–7 years of ERP technical development experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of AL development in Dynamics 365 Business Central (or equivalent NAV experience transitioning to AL).

  • Demonstrated experience building upgrade-safe extensions.

  • Working knowledge of ERP financial transaction flows and posting logic.

  • Experience with REST APIs, OData, and JSON integrations.

  • Familiarity with Git-based source control systems.

  • Experience deploying and troubleshooting in cloud SaaS environments.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

  • Knowledge of software testing and quality assurance practices.
