The Sturgeon Lake First Nation Daycare program is now accepting applications from qualified individuals for an Early Childhood Educator.
Education & Qualifications:
-Early Childhood Education Level II (Certificate); or equivalent post-secondary training;
-Ability to speak/understand First Nations Language and/or knowledge of Culture is an asset;
-Willing to continue self-improvement/education.
Duties:
- Plans, organizes and leads daily activities designed to stimulate intellectual, spiritual, physical and
emotional growth of children.
- Prepare the environment for children to learn through active exploration and interaction with adults, other children using age appropriate materials.
- Provide multicultural materials and equipment for children of all ages. Maintains constant supervision of indoor and outdoor play periods.
- Cooks meals and snacks when the duty is assigned.
- Cleans and sanitizes the facility according to the weekly schedule. Maintain a clean, attractive, safe
environment that facilitates optimal growth and development of children and good working conditions for all workers.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Documents:
- Valid Standard First Aid/CPR, WHMIS and Food Safety Handlers Certificate or willing to be certified;
-Criminal Record and vulnerable sector check
