Engineering Team Lead

Bradken is seeking an experienced Engineering Team Lead to lead our Santiago-based Product and Engineering team, supporting our Mineral Processing business and mining customers across the region.

This role will suit a technically credible leader who can develop people, work confidently with customers and turn operational challenges into practical, commercially valuable engineering solutions.

About the role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, South America, you will lead a team of Design Engineers and oversee the design, development, validation and implementation of products and services for mining applications.

You will work closely with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain and regional and global engineering teams to ensure solutions are safe, manufacturable, fit for purpose and aligned with customer and business priorities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading, coaching and developing the Chile engineering team.
  • Setting technical priorities, allocating resources and overseeing delivery across engineering projects.
  • Working directly with customers to understand site challenges and define suitable solutions.
  • Guiding product design, field trials, validation, implementation and improvement activities.
  • Providing technical analysis, performance reviews and warranty presentations.
  • Supporting business development, technical proposals and customer contracts in partnership with Sales and Marketing.
  • Collaborating with Manufacturing, Operations and Supply Chain to support product commercialisation.
  • Contributing to regional and global engineering initiatives, including composite and cast product development and standardisation.
  • Delivering technical training to Engineering, Sales teams and customers.
  • Ensuring compliance with Bradken’s safety, quality, engineering and intellectual property requirements.

What you will bring

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 12 years of experience in design engineering, product development or technical support within mining.
  • Experience leading and developing engineers or other technical professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of mineral processing equipment, mining consumables, wear products or related engineered solutions.
  • Experience developing and implementing products, conducting field trials and resolving technical issues at customer sites.
  • The ability to connect engineering decisions with customer value and commercial outcomes.
  • Experience working across Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing and Operations.
  • Strong planning, project management and stakeholder management capability.
  • Fluent Spanish and desirable professional working proficiency in English.
  • A valid driver’s licence and availability to travel to customer and mine sites within Chile and the SAM region.

Experience with composite products, technical contracts or intellectual property management will be advantageous. Postgraduate qualifications in engineering or management will also be valued.
