This position working for Highline Construction (highlinewa.com) requires open availability Mondays thru Fridays from August thru September. Highline Construction is located in Bellingham, WA. This is a local position with most jobsites located in Whatcom and Skagit Counties.

This position is for you if you enjoy:

  • Performing physically intensive work safely and efficiently
  • Working as a member of a team to achieve a common goal
  • Being outdoors in all weather conditions

In this role you will be:

  • Working on a TEMPORARY basis and is anticipated to last 6-10 weeks. Hours may vary, but mostly full-time, possibly overtime (overtime paid at 1.5x). Hours may vary significantly by day or week in accordance with project needs.
  • Working hard, working safely, and maintaining a positive attitude!
  • Working outdoors in the summer – (taking responsibility to practice heat safety strategies)
  • Working on a small team operating heavy equipment of various sizes and types, including excavators, dozers, and rollers; utilizing hand and power tools.
  • Willingness to work as an equipment operator AND as a laborer as needed to get the job done.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Great Pay: $30-$40/hour (DOE); plus potential to increase earnings through assignment to prevailing wage projects (project assignments based on skill, productivity, attitude, tenure, and other considerations)

Qualifications

  • 18+ years old and legally authorized for work in the U.S.A.
  • Previous heavy equipment operating experience required
  • CDL-Class A or CDL-Class B a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and safely pick up more than 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Safety-minded with a positive attitude and strong work-ethic
  • Reliable vehicle (clean driving record preferred)
  • Smart phone required
  • Reliable attendance
  • Availability from 6:30am-6:30pm Mondays through Fridays is required from August through September. Actual work hours will vary.
