The Facility Engineering Technician III serves as a senior technical resource responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of data center facilities. This role provides advanced troubleshooting, technical leadership, and operational oversight of critical systems. The Facility Engineering Technician III partners with internal teams, vendors, and leadership to maintain industry-leading standards for uptime and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead operation and maintenance of mission-critical infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and cooling systems
  • Perform complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical incidents
  • Oversee and coordinate major maintenance activities, vendor work, and system upgrades
  • Support capacity planning, infrastructure improvements, and facility optimization initiatives
  • Develop, review, and improve SOPs, EOPs, and MOPs
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and audit requirements
  • Mentor and train Technician I and II team members
  • Act as escalation point for technical issues and incident response
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams on new builds and expansions
  • Maintain accurate documentation of systems, assets, and processes
  • Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in facilities engineering, mechanical, electrical, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in data center or critical facilities environment
  • Advanced experience with electrical systems, generators, UPS, and cooling infrastructure
  • Deep technical expertise in critical facilities systems
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Experience with BMS platforms (e.g., Niagara) and operational systems (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Ability to lead projects and drive process improvements
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
