Founding Problem Solver
AI Summary
A senior project/programma leader owns the critical path to the first dose of the therapeutic in humans, coordinating clinical, vendor, and regulatory activities to launch a first-in-human study.
About this role
We're a deep tech company pushing the frontier of human capabilities. Our current focus is better therapeutics, starting with more wakefulness.
Our first and primary program is working on the ambitious goal of enabling people to sleep faster. We leverage rare supersleeper phenotypes in order to make in-adult peptide and molecular therapeutics. Less sleep while remaining healthy, awake, and feeling great.
What does a future look like where we can systematically identify, validate, and induce beneficial capabilities?
The first program: Inducing short sleeper phenotypes in adults—making ozempic for sleep.
We raised $12M at a pre-seed stage, at a $100M SAFE cap.
The Role
Start-ups are unique. Roles aren't as ossified or constrained as in a large corporation--you'll often learn a new role every few months, enabling you to grow as a person and team member. Keep this space for growth and variability in mind when reading this rough outline of what working together could look like.
We've seen early positive data on our therapeutics. This makes us excited to move them towards the clinic: Testing them in human patients by mid next-year. This is also a world record for moving a non-vaccine therapeutic into the clinic from scratch.
Testing new therapeutics in humans is a complex process involving doctors, manufacturers, data scientists, researchers, and patients.
You'll be at the center of all of them.
More concretely:
You'll own the critical path to the first dose.
You'll build and drive the plan to first-in-human dosing.
We'll fly you to Australia often, where high-quality clinical trials are easier to run.
You'll negotiate timelines until they hurt.
When a CRO says ten weeks, you'll figure out how we can make it five.
You'll find vendors who deliver on time and faster.
You'll interview and recruit some of the smartest people you know as teammates to help you achieve the goals.
You'll think two steps ahead, to spot bottlenecks before they exist.
You'll make sure we execute fast without compromising patient safety or quality.
You'll have authority over budgets, rapid decision-making, vendor selection, and more.
You're not: The doctor dosing the patient, the statistician evaluating the data, or the chemist making the peptide. You are: The central hub responsible for the success of the first test of our therapeutic in patients. You're responsible for our equivalent of launching the first Falcon 1 to orbit.
In less than 6 months, you could be standing in a clinic in Melbourne watching a narcoleptic patient with a doctor setting up an applicator in their nose to receive the first dose of a drug you helped bring there.
As a mission-critical problem solver on the team, there'll be room to grow into many other possible core responsibilities in the company:
Fundraising, because we're likely to raise a large seed round in 2026.
Recruiting, because we're adding world-class folks to our lean team.
Building out the lab, because we're likely to move into a larger space enabling us to build the world's best human capabilities lab.
Technical lead of a human capabilities program you fall in love with, such as growth factors for improved cognition, a male birth control pill, inducing infrared vision in humans, and many more that are imaginable.
You
To achieve our goals, the company needs exceptional people. You're hungry to work on hard, technical problems. You've learned something difficult fast before, and can show us. You figure things out without waiting for instructions. You're here to get sharper, and mistakes don't derail you.
This role is a great fit if you are:
A deeptech generalist who has shipped hard projects under time pressure
The person teams rely on when something is blocked, messy, or ambiguous
Comfortable being the “hub” across technical, vendor, and regulatory worlds without needing to be the domain expert in every one
For example, you having been in early-stage ops, development ops, or R&D operations
For example, being ex-founders or early employees who miss building from scratch
How we work:
Small team, high trust, high agency
High responsibility
We prefer written clarity over meetings
We move fast by parallelizing, being decisive, and keeping quality systems lightweight but real
We care about speed, safety and quality, not paperwork theater
If you find a better way, you can change the system
Working Together

Generous equity on a vesting schedule.
Healthcare benefits.
Your Wellness budget: $500+ per month to spend on training, supplements, medication, and everything that you need to become your best self.
All of this is open to conversation--we'll work with you to make it work.
