Fruit and Vegetable Chargehand - Full-Time

LONDIS Plus Carlow requires an experienced Fruit and Vegetable Chargehand to join their amazing team.

MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION

To operate within the Fresh Foods department efficiently, effectively and hygienically to ensure customer satisfaction at all times with the highest standards of service and products.

CUSTOMER CARE

• To serve, communicate and interact with customers in a friendly and efficient manner providing the highest standard of customer care
  

OPERATIONAL & STORE PRESENTATION

• To prepare high quality fresh food products

• Ensure merchandising and product presentation is of the highest standard at all times

• Ensure Fresh Food department/store is merchandised in a customer friendly and competitive manner ensuring compliance with company procedures and guidelines

• Ensure housekeeping in the Fresh Food department is maintained at an optimum level

• Co-ordinate in-store sales and promotions

• To react to local market trends and competition in an appropriate manner

STOCK MANAGEMENT

• Ordering of stock

• To assist the manager in preparations for stock take and supervise where appropriate

• To assist the manager in minimising stock loss through wastage, damages and pilferage

• Ensure food management and waste systems are adhered to by retail sales team

• Check stock to ensure adequate stock is available for customer’s needs

• Ensure stock is rotated appropriately to ensure in date stock is available and to minimise waste through out of date stock

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

• Previous experience in fresh food department would be beneficial

• Knowledge in food safety, hygiene and HACCP would be beneficial

• Customer driven with great communication and interpersonal skills

• Hard-working and flexible, with the ability to work both as part of a team and on own initiative

• Professional & polite manner is essential

• Enjoys working in a fast paced team environment and with a willingness to embrace new challenges
