Discovery Kidzone is seeking a Full-Time Lead Preschool Teacher to join our growing early childhood education team. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic educator who is passionate about creating a positive learning environment where preschool-aged children can develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically through hands-on, play-based learning.
The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing engaging classroom experiences while fostering strong relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and daily classroom activities
- Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging preschool learning environment
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development
- Encourage independence, creativity, and positive peer interactions
- Observe, assess, and document children's developmental progress
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding classroom activities and student growth
- Guide and support Assistant Teachers while promoting a collaborative classroom culture
- Maintain classroom organization and ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing standards
- Work closely with center leadership to support program quality and daily operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Preschool Teacher or Lead Teacher in a licensed childcare or early learning program is required
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices
- Experience planning and implementing preschool curriculum
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Positive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
- CPR and First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire
- Ability to complete all required state licensing trainings and background requirements
