The HR Business Analyst, Reporting & Analytics plays a key role in advancing SAIT’s HR systems, reporting, and data analytics capabilities. This position partners closely with HR, IT, and institutional stakeholders to translate business needs into effective solutions that improve processes, enhance data quality, and enable informed decision-making across the employee lifecycle.
The role combines business analysis, process improvement, and data analysis, with a strong focus on optimizing HR systems, strengthening reporting and insights, and supporting continuous improvement across HR operations. The ideal candidate brings experience in HR technology, strong analytical capability, and the ability to influence stakeholders and drive meaningful change.
Position Summary
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement
Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements
Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to gather, validate, and prioritize requirements
Partner with HR SMEs, project teams, and technical teams to define and deliver effective solutions
Maintain stakeholder engagement throughout the delivery lifecycle
Process Improvement & Documentation
Map current and future state processes, including gap analyses
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and user experience across HR processes
Document business processes, system requirements, and release updates
HR Systems & Solution Delivery
Support the configuration, enhancement, and optimization of HR systems and tools
Collaborate with technical teams and vendors to ensure quality solution delivery
Identify risks related to systems, processes, or data, and recommend mitigation strategies
Support initiatives across the full project lifecycle (analysis through implementation, including testing phases)
Data, Reporting & Insights
Extract, analyze, and interpret HR and operational data to identify trends and insights
Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Argos and Power BI
Support data governance practices by improving data quality, consistency, and integrity
Continuous Improvement & Team Contribution
Contribute to the evolution of business analysis standards, procedures, and practices
Lead or support initiatives that enhance HR operations, reporting, and system capability
Foster a collaborative, positive, and engaged team environment
What you bring
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within HR, analytics, or enterprise systems
Strong understanding of HR processes (e.g., onboarding, employee lifecycle, case management)
Experience working with HR systems such as Banner, Cornerstone, ServiceNow, or similar platforms
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate business needs into system and reporting solutions
Experience developing dashboards using Argos, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools
Experience supporting projects through the full project lifecycle
Strong analytical, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
Understanding of data governance, privacy, and security considerations in HR environments
Nice to Have:
Exposure to system integrations across HR platforms
Familiarity with Agile or iterative delivery approaches
Business Analysis certification (e.g., CBAP)
