HYDROVAC OPERATOR
GCS is looking for an experienced Hydrovac Operator to support our drilling crews in Edmonton. Full-time, seasonal work that is locally based.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hydrovac Operators conduct hydro excavation projects including; utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching, and digging;
- Complete permitting requirements as they pertain to the scopes of work;
- Operate trucks in a safe and professional manner;
- Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures for hydrovac operations;
- Complete all required site documentation;
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and preventative maintenance as needed;
- Complete daily log books;
- Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity;
- Must show up for work fit for duty to perform duties assigned;
- Able to accept after hour calls in emergency situations
- Ensure client satisfaction by providing excellent customer service at all times;
- Complete daily scheduled services in a timely manner;
- Operate hydrovac trucks and equipment in a safe and professional manner;
- Follow company HSE policies and procedures;
- Perform general housekeeping to ensure units are operating properly;
- Secure excavated holes on site;
- Additional duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Class 1, Class 3 or DZ license;
- Clean driver’s abstract (no major infractions, no at fault accidents, no distracted driving tickets);
- Three years of Class 1 driving experience is required;
- Demonstrate a commitment to environmental compliance and safe work;
- Ability to read blueprints;
- Familiar with completing permitting requirements;
- Ability to read utility locates;
- Must be able to work in varied weather conditions;
- Strong work ethic;
- Ability to think and react to changing conditions quickly;
- Safety conscious;
- Strong manual dexterity and hand eye coordination;
- Ability to work in a fast- paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks.
SAFETY CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Commercial vehicle training (Hours of Service, Load Securement, Weights and Dimensions, Pre-trip inspections);
- CSTS 2020
- WHMIS 2015
- Ground Disturbance Level 2 / Supervisory
- Fall Protection
