About this role
Communitas International seeks a Planting Pastor to start and sustain a missionally-focused community of faith, or an International Missional Teammate to join existing planting projects across 25 countries. Communitas has been planting churches worldwide for almost 50 years. The Planting Pastor will follow the proven methodology employed by the Communitas network of churches: embedding, initiating, practicing, maturing, hubbing, and extending. The Planting Pastor will also enjoy great flexibility to adapt to the specific cultural contexts of the area. The International Missional Practitioner will seek to live out our core values: kingdom seeking, grace oriented, and people focused, as we love like Jesus in our neighborhood. The preferred candidate will have prior missional or church-planting experience. The efforts of the Planting Pastor or Missional Teammate will result in a thriving, self-sustaining, authentic, discipleship-oriented, outward-facing and reproducing community of faith in 3 to 5 years.
All of our International Missional Practitioner roles are support funded. Communitas will help with coaching and support as the International Missional Practitioner develops a support base. Once selected as an International Missional Practitioner, a support plan will be developed and the new staff member will be required to raise 80% of the support before launching into the above ministry related responsibilities of the church plant. We believe that God is still raising up His church who desire to go together on mission to love like Jesus in their neighborhood in many countries across the globe.
