International Sr. Geotechnical/Materials Engineer

We are seeking an International International Senior Geotechnical/Materials Engineer for an upcoming AIIB-funded rural road rehabilitation program to support the Ministry of Rural Development on feasibility studies, detailed engineering design, and safeguard preparation across six provinces in Cambodia.

Duties and Responsibilities

The expert shall:

• Review existing information and conduct site visits, select potential materials sources
  and propose their usage for the detailed design.
• Work closely with the national materials engineer to ensure a suitable laboratory
  program to test materials as necessary for this stage of the project design.
• Establish a testing regime for the construction phase that complies fully with the range
  of materials that will be used for the project roads.
• Assist Senior Structural Engineer to design bridge foundation and other structures.
• Prepare geotechnical/material reports, foundation design reports.

Qualifications

• Must be an internationally experienced engineer holding a master’s degree in civil engineering, with at least 10 years’ experience on related assignments.
• Must be fully experienced in the materials and process involved for the improvement of the rural roads including the use of unbound (aggregate and natural materials) hydraulically bound pavement materials and the use of bituminous surface treatments
• Must also be fully experienced with materials selection and processing for cross drainage structures, and for bridge works and all other concrete works.
• Experience with materials used for paved roads and structures are essential.
• Extensive experience in the Southeast Asian countries.
• Must have good proficiency of English.
