Junior Crew Operator

Maran Tankers Management Inc., one of the world’s leading tanker operators and part of Angelicoussis Group, is looking for a motivated candidate for the position of Junior Crew Operator.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage training activities and requirements for crew personnel, including in-house training ashore against training plans and training in external training institutes;

• Manage cadet selection;

• Maintain and update departmental filing system;

• Validate seafarers’ statutory certificates, documents and training for assigned rank/position onboard as per STCW and SMS requirements;

• Coordinate crew changes in order to ensure prompt embarkation and disembarkation of vessel personnel;

• Handle pre-medical examinations to ensure seamen are fit for duty;

• Arrange travelling logistics for shipboard personnel;

• Inform vessel agents regarding crew movements and related arrangements;

• Support implementation of SMS requirements by ship personnel;

• Ensure manning procedures are followed in accordance with STCW requirements;

• Prepare and maintain brief/debrief forms for all Officers;

• Monitor vessel and officers’ capabilities;

• Support assessment of crew operational efficiency and skill;

• Assist in development of procedures under the role’s responsibility;

• Follow up on crew training needs identified by all sources (INTRANET, OMS, Crew Evaluations, Industry Requirements, MoC, LLR, Training Matrix);

Requirements

Candidate must have

• University degree in Maritime Studies or relevant field

• Basic familiarity with STCW requirements (preferred)

• Fluency in the English Language (written and oral)

• Excellent communication skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Literacy in MS Office suite
