Job Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to set-up and operate the Amada laser cutting machine. This individual will be performing machine set-up including program retrieval, ensuring proper gases and nozzles, and correct material selection. This position is a weekend shift, Friday through Sunday, 12 hours shifts, paid for 40.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to diagnose machine problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed.
  • Performs laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively per specifications.
  • Performs detailed checks to the quality of product machined and notify supervisor of process issues.
  • Operates and navigates in a Windows-based computer environment.
  • Ability to program nesting software to maximize product/material usage.
  • Adheres to safety procedures and regulations, including proper maintenance and housekeeping of laser area.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in a related field preferred.
  • Prior knowledge of operation of laser equipment required.
  • Ability to understand and follow customer prints and possess good math skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytic, and time management skills, attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
