As a Lead Agent – Ocean Export, you will support the Supervisor and Manager in running daily operations, ensuring the smooth and timely movement of freight while delivering excellent customer service.
You will also play a key role in guiding the team, driving efficiency, and maintaining strong relationships with customers.
Operations
- Ensure smooth and timely processing of ocean export shipments
- Prepare and verify export documentation
- Manage accurate data entry, billing, and job costing
- Coordinate shipments with customers and meet service expectations
- Monitor shipments to ensure customer satisfaction
- Follow customer SOPs and company procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
Team & Performance
- Support workload distribution within the team
- Monitor workboards and ensure KPIs are met
- Guide and mentor team members
- Promote a positive and collaborative team environment
- Drive adoption of tools and process improvements
Customer & Business Support
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Support pricing requests in line with customer needs and market conditions
- Contribute to customer retention and CRM updates
- Monitor invoicing and ensure accuracy
- Communicate proactively with stakeholders
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Ocean Export or freight forwarding
- Good understanding of export operations and documentation
- Knowledge of Expeditors systems, products, and processes
- Strong customer service mindset
- Good communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to support and guide team members
- Preferred: Hazardous Materials certification
