We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Engineering Manager – Java to lead and mentor a team of software engineers while driving the design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Java, excellent leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of managing engineering teams in fast-paced environments.

As a Lead Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring technical excellence, and aligning engineering efforts with business objectives. You will collaborate closely with product managers, architects, QA teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet customer and organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Drive the architecture, design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade applications using Java technologies.
• Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and development processes to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Participate in technical decision-making, code reviews, and architectural discussions.
• Manage project planning, resource allocation, risk assessment, and delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and support career growth and development initiatives.
• Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and reliability through effective engineering practices.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges while driving continuous process improvements.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and modern software development methodologies.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top engineering talent.
• Drive Agile development practices and ensure successful execution of sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of professional software development experience with strong expertise in Java.
• Proven experience leading software engineering teams and managing technical projects.
• Strong knowledge of Core Java, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Data Structures, and Design Patterns.
• Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and DevOps practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems and high-performance applications.
• Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of software security, performance optimization, and system scalability.
• Experience with modern monitoring and logging tools.
• Relevant technical certifications will be an added advantage.
