What You’ll Get to Do
The Lead Hand – Shipping Loader is responsible for coordinating and supporting night shift shipping activities to ensure the safe, accurate, and timely loading of glass products for delivery. This role provides hands-on leadership to the shipping team, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards while working closely with production and logistics teams.
This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, leads by example on the floor, and has experience in shipping, loading, or warehouse operations. As a key member of the operations team, this position plays a critical role in ensuring customer commitments are met safely and efficiently.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and coordinate night shift shipping and loading activities to meet daily targets
- Direct and support team members, assigning work and providing on-the-floor guidance
- Ensure safe, accurate loading and securement of glass products to prevent damage
- Verify shipments against documentation and customer requirements
- Coordinate with production to prioritize orders and maintain efficient workflow
- Enforce safety standards and support training, coaching, and continuous improvement
What We Are Looking For
- Proven leadership ability with a hands-on, team-oriented approach
- Experience in shipping, warehouse, or manufacturing environments
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and accuracy in a high-paced setting
- Ability to organize work, solve problems, and adapt to changing priorities
- Proficiency with or ability to learn material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts)
- Dependable with strong work ethic and willingness to work night shift
