As our Management Accountant, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and timely management accounts, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and delivering financial insights that help shape business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts in line with company deadlines
- Monitor financial performance, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary
- Partner with department heads to drive cost control and operational efficiency
- Assist in preparing financial reports and board packs
- Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and internal controls
- Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors
- Deliver ad hoc analysis and reporting for senior management
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a management accounting role (UK-based preferred)
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Sage, Oracle)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Clear communicator with the ability to explain financial data to non-finance stakeholders
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
Desirable:
- Experience in professional services or the legal industry
