About this role

Minor Works Manager

Office location: The Barn, Newton le Willows, WA3 1JU

Contract: Full-Time (40 hours/week, Monday to Friday) - Early starts

Covering: North of England and Midlands

The Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Minor Works Manager to join our team. This role is a mix of site surveying, estimating, managing field teams, and handling project coordination. If you are practical, commercially minded, and enjoy a varied role, we’d love to hear from you.

This role involves significant national travel, covering areas across the North West, North East, and Midlands. You must be comfortable with early starts, as you will need to be on-site at client premises by 7:00 am - 7:30 am to accommodate restricted access times.

  • Act as the lead surveyor, visiting sites to take measurements, photos, and videos to capture the full scope of work. You will then translate these details into professional, accurate cost estimates and detailed pricing breakdowns for our clients.

  • Be the main point of contact for our field operatives, providing support, coaching, and ensuring all projects meet our high standards from start to finish.

  • Order materials for all booked works and ensure projects progress efficiently from the initial enquiry through to the final installation.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for business expansion and craft tailored solutions to meet client needs.

You will have 1 to 2 days per week based from home or the office to stay on top of your admin and project documentation.

What We're Looking For

We need an experienced professional who can blend technical compliance with operational leadership:

  • A solid background in surveying, estimating, project coordination, or operations

  • Confident in reading technical drawings and specifications and aren't afraid of hard work on-site.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently at all levels, adapting your style for clients, technicians, and colleagues.

  • Know how to put together detailed, accurate quotations and have a keen eye for cost control and project profitability.

  • Flexible regarding national travel and happy to manage the early start times required by our clients.

What We Offer You

Join a supportive team where honesty and approachability are valued.

We offer a competitive salary package together with a bonus plan and with the option of a company vehicle or car allowance. Additionally, you'll comprehensive group benefits package designed to look after your well-being. You'll also receive 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
